Open-outcry trading to begin at 7:20 am CST on USDA report days

Open-outcry grain trading will begin early on days the USDA releases major agricultural reports. CME Group told the Commodity Future Trading Commission it wanted to start pit trading at 7:20 am CST, instead of traditional opening time of 9:30 am on days that USDA issues major reports.

CFTC approved that plan and the change will take effect for the first time on Tuesday, when USDA issues its June set of stocks and production numbers.

On Monday, June 25, trade for the day will stop at 2 pm CST Monday through Friday, instead of the current 1:15 pm close, synchronizing the close with electronic trading.
