Delegates attending the National Corn Growers Association’s Corn Congress at Commodity Classic in San Antonio are setting national policy and looking ahead to 2018 and the next possible farm bill.
Some have expressed concern about the direction the Environmental Protection Agency will take on the Renewable Fuels Standard.
Many corn growers are concerned about defending the federal crop insurance program from further budget cuts on Capitol Hill.
We addressed those topics and more during a visit with Dale Ihry, the Executive Director for the ND Corn Utilization Council and the North Dakota Corn Growers Association, on the sidelines of Commodity Classic in San Antonio.
Dale spent over 30 years with the Farm Service Agency in North Dakota. He was Director in Charge of the Agricultural Risk Coverage and Price Loss Coverage programs for FSA for the state of North Dakota.
The NCGA Corn Congress adjourns from 8 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. today in San Antonio. Delegates return for another session of Corn Congress from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Our thanks to the North Dakota Soybean Council and the North Dakota Corn CouncilShare
