North Dakota State University’s Center for Agricultural Policy and Trade Studies is hosting a farm bill conference in cooperation with representatives of North Dakota’s congressional delegation at the Ramada Plaza Suites in Fargo.
The event is sponsored by the North Dakota Corn Growers Association, North Dakota Farmers Union and American Crystal Sugar.
Participants are discussing which programs worked in the 2014 farm bill, like the ARC or PLC programs, what could be changed or modified, and if there a need for a new farm policy.
Another question being asked in Fargo – will lawmakers get their work done on time regarding the new farm bill?
Other topics on the conference agenda include commodities and crop insurance programs, conservation, trade, and how past and present U.S. agricultural policies may influence future policies.Share
