FSA extends prevented planting reporting deadline

Farm Service Agency has extended the deadline to file a 2011 prevented planting claim in North Dakota to July 15.  The extension coincides with FSA’s final crop reporting deadline.

Continued wet conditions throughout North Dakota prompted FSA to grant the extension.  Producers are normally required to file a prevented planting claim within 15 days of the respective crop’s final planting date.  Any prevented planting claims filed with FSA after July 15, 2011 will be assessed a fee for FSA to conduct a field visit.
