House votes down amendment to cut funding for the National Wildlife Service


As part of the House debate on the Ag Appropriations yesterday, lawmakers deliberated an amendment that would cut funding for the National Wildlife Service.

House Ag Committee Chairman Frank Lucas told his colleagues that he wished other government services were as efficient as the National Wildlife Service.

However, Representative Peter DeFazio of Oregon wasn’t as impressed with the federal wildlife animal control strategies, and wasn’t afraid to voice his opinion.

The amendment to reduce the funding failed on a 132-287 vote.
