Representatives from ND Senators’ offices will discuss Farm Bill at the Food and Agriculture Council meeting Sept. 8


The Food and Agriculture Council (FAC) will be meeting Thursday, September 8 in Jamestown, N.D. to meet with Farm Bill with representatives from Senator Conrad’s and Senator Hoeven’s offices presenting on the topic. The intent of the meeting is to engage the council and public in discussion.

The meeting will be at the North Dakota Farmers Union headquarters, starting at 1 p.m. Participants at the meeting will include Jasper Schneider, FAC Chairperson; Aaron Drauter, FSA Executive Director; Scott Stofferahn, State Director for Senator Kent Conrad; Tom Brusegaard, Field Representative for Senator John Hoeven; and Robert Carlson, North Dakota Farmers Union President.


The FAC was established by the USDA in each state to coordinate interagency activities and to promote the goals and objectives of agriculture related industries. The state councils may be utilized for public feedback on procedural issues, to receive recommendations on policies under consideration and to keep informed on agriculture and rural development concerns. The council consists of representatives from ten different USDA agencies and six different state agencies.
