Governor Jack Dalrymple today will join members of the Souris River Joint Board to unveil a map for a comprehensive flood protection project. The map is an important step toward safeguarding Minot-areas residents from future flooding.
The preliminary map will help Minot-area residents, who were left with flood-damaged homes, make important decisions about their property. The State Water Commission has provided $2.5 million to cover costs for the project’s initial development phase.
Dalrymple, chairman of the State Water Commission, will participate in a Souris River Joint Board meeting Thursday and a news conference to provide an overview of the project’s preliminary alignment.
The news conference will be held Thursday, 10:30 a.m. at Minot City Hall, 515 2nd Ave. S.W. The Souris River Joint Board meeting will be held prior to the news conference, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Minot City Hall.
