Senator Kent Conrad, Senator John Hoeven and Governor Jack Dalrymple made an announcement that three leaders representing the U.S. Department of Energy and the nation’s energy industry will headline the 5th annual Great Plains & Empower ND Energy Expo. The event will be held November 14-15 at Bismarck State College’s National Energy Center of Excellence in Bismarck.
Dr. Steven Koonin, undersecretary for science with the U.S. Department of Energy; Alex Pourbaix, president of TransCanada Energy and Oil Pipelines; and Mark Brownstein, chief counsel of energy programs for the Environmental Defense Fund will provide keynote addresses during the two-day conference. An impressive lineup of speakers and panelists will also be featured, covering a diverse agenda of important energy issues, including national energy policy, workforce development, hydraulic fracturing and project financing.
The energy expo will bring together researchers, entrepreneurs, policy makers and industry leaders from across the country to discuss the state’s and the nation’s most pressing energy issues and to identify opportunities for expanding North Dakota’s energy industry.
