NAFB Trade Talk 2011: Syngenta focuses on soybean traits; Mitchell says atrazine important

Dr. Paul Mitchell, at the National Association of Farm Broadcasters convention during Trade Talk, discussed the value of atrazine with us. He says that there is both a cost and environmental benefit to its use. Mitchell says atrazine helps keep farmland out of production and helps prevent soil erosion.

Syngenta’s Scott Erickson told us about the future of soybean traits. He says researchers are really working at Syngenta to improve weed resistance for soybeans. Erickson not only works with soybeans, but cereals as well. He says Syngenta is really focusing on healthy root systems for the cereal crops.
