Reminder for Farmers and Ranchers to Respond to the Cash Rents and Leases Survey

The South Dakota Farm Service Agency (FSA) reminds all farmers and ranchers to respond to USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) Cash Rents and Leases Survey.  FSA and other USDA agencies rely on average cash rental rates in each county to help develop and administer Federal farm programs.  Producer participation in the survey is critical in order to get the best results.

The survey will be conducted through June 2017 online, via mail, telephone or in person.  NASS will release the survey results on Sept. 8, 2017.

Farmers will need a survey code to respond to the survey.  Producers were mailed a letter with their survey code back in February or March and a second reminder to complete the survey was sent in April or May.
