Dakotafest in Mitchell, South Dakota is back Aug. 20-22. There is plenty to do for both livestock and grain producers at the event this year. This year IDEAg, producers of Dakotafest are inviting producers and ag leaders to celebrate 24 years of the show.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from two keynote speakers. Who will share their insight on trends in the agriculture sectors, recommend marketing strategies and risk management. Listening session will include topics on tariffs, trade and hemp production as well.
Dave Foge, ag risk management broker and director of farm marketing at Advanced Trading, Inc, will speak at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug 20. Jerry Gulke of the Gulke Group will present at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22.
New items to look for at Dakotafest this year is an expanding partnership. Last year Dakotafest partnered with Sioux Nation Ag. This year the partner has expanded to a full days of educational livestock demonstration in the swine tent based on biosecurity with an update on African Swine Fever.
Along with the networking and educational event happening on the grounds, all three days include free ice cream in the South Dakota State University Extension booth.
