Closing Market Report- 5/4/22- Wheat Leads Higher; Corn and Soy Mixed on Wednesday

On Wednesday, we saw the wheat markets surge their way higher along with soybean oil. July contracts of corn soybeans and all three wheats closed higher Tuesday, fueled by gains in wheat as concerns about India’s wheat crop got more attention. July soybean oil closed up 2.15 cents with support from another day of higher trading in crude oil. The Federal Reserve raised interest rates by 50 basis points, it’s biggest hike since 2000 on Wednesday. Meantime, the hog market surged higher and cattle were mixed to lower.
