SD Hutterian Co-Op Under Investigation For Illegal Grain Transactions

(Pierre, SD)  —  State officials are investigating alleged illegal grain transactions by a South Dakota co-op.  The Public Utilities Commission is looking into alleged soybean sales made by South Dakota Hutterian Co-Operative of Aberdeen to processor AGP.  State officials say the co-op doesn’t have a grain buyer license, making the transactions illegal.  Coop attorney Jeffrey Seven says their relationship with AGP has existed for over 30 years and that the market is only open to religious members.
