(Bismarck, ND) — An invasive and devastating weed known as Palmer amaranth has made its appearance in three more North Dakota counties. The Palmer amaranth has wiggled its way into 19 counties in the state and is present in nearly all of the lower 48 states. It was first found in North Dakota in 2018. Farmers are preparing for the likelihood the weed will establish itself in fields of crops which will make the fight to eradicate it more difficult and expensive.
