(Pierre, SD) — More than two million birds in South Dakota are reported to be affected by an outbreak of Avian flu. South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks biologists are reporting mass numbers of birds dying throughout the state, mostly young snow geese. Those hunting waterfowl should exercise caution, including wearing gloves while handling birds. The agency said “The risk of human transmission is pretty low, but it’s not zero.”
