Bismarck, N.D. — NDFB is gearing up for the Farm and Ranch Conference, January 27-28 in Bismarck at the Bismarck Hotel and Convention Center. The conference will begin Friday evening, featuring Braxten Nielsen. In 2017, Braxten’s life changed forever. He attended a rodeo just like any other day, except that day was different. That day left him with a five percent chance to ever walk again.

The conference is open to anyone who is looking to grow as a leader, ignite their passion for agriculture and have some fun while doing it.

Saturday will offer several breakout sessions. The topics provide an opportunity for education in a variety of agricultural areas, including:
• Maintaining your land in a drought
• Market Outlook
• Erica Valdez – rancher by the US/Mexican border
• Meat Cutting
• Technology in Ranching
• Ag in Politics
• Power Hours – Wild Goose Chase

The Young Farmer and Rancher Discussion Meet will be held on Saturday. The discussion meet gives contestants a chance to show their leadership skills during a competitive event that simulates a committee meeting where discussion and active participation are expected. The winner will receive a cash prize of $4,000 and compete in the national Discussion Meet at the 2024 American Farm Bureau Federation Annual Meeting, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
