Weekly Export Sales Seen as Decent for Week Ended January 5th

USDA’s Weekly Export Sales report showed decent sales across corn, soybeans, wheat, beef and pork for the week ending January 5th, 2023.

Corn sales were 255.700 metric tons (MT), soybeans were 717,400 MT while wheat was 90,800 MT (which was up 93 percent from last week). Wheat exports of 193,600 MT were up noticeably from the previous week, but down 15 percent from the prior 4-week average

Mexico was the top buyer of corn on the week with China a close second. China was the top buyer of soybeans and the top buyer of wheat.

Beef net sales were 13,300 MT with Japan and China the top buyers while pork net sales were 13,100 MT. Mexico and Japan were the top buyers.
