(WASHINGTON D.C.) – According to the latest Cattle on Feed report for February, USDA NASS says that cattle and calves on feed is down 4% as of February 1st, 2023 compared to last year at the same time. Total head was 11.7 million as of February 1st, 2023.
Placements were 4% below year ago levels, marketings were 4% above 2022 and other disappearance totaled 63,000 head during January, 2 percent below 2022.
Overall, many traders viewed the report as expected and bullish for the cattle market.
