(Des Moines, IA) — An Iowa man has pleaded guilty to fraud in an organic grain case. Court records state 48-year old Mark Haines of Sigourney sold grain that he said was organic, when in fact it violated the U-S-D-A’s organic program. Court records also state Haines got false invoices and checks to inflate his expenses, and lower his federal income taxes. Haines is to be sentenced August 18th.
