ND House Lawmakers Advance Bill To Prevent Land Purchases By Foreign Entities

(Bismarck, ND) — The North Dakota House is advancing a measure that would prevent North Dakota land purchases by some foreign entities. A Senate bill would penalize a company or group that facilitates the purchase of North Dakota land by countries deemed to be foreign adversaries, such as China, Russia, Iran, Cuba, North Korea, and Venezuela. Senate lawmakers defeated a similar bill earlier this session that would have created a review and permitting process for potential land sales.
