(Bismarck, ND) — State regulators are rejecting a request for a road permit for a controversial regional carbon-dioxide pipeline through several North Dakota counties. Friday’s unanimous decision by the three-member Public Service Commission involves a five-point-five-billion dollar Midwest Carbon Express project proposal by Summit Carbon Solutions. In hearings held early this year, company officials pitched the plan for a 320-mile carbon dioxide route spanning 10 counties in the Bismarck State. Company officials say they will go back to the drawing board to craft a new plan that will win the board’s approval.
