Xitavo Soybean Seed Showcases Remarkable Performance in 2023 Yield Trials

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, November 20, 2023 — Xitavo™ soybean seed continues to collect first-place finishes in the Farmers’ Independent Research of Seed Technologies (FIRST) trials. Xitavo brand soybean products, which are exclusively distributed by BASF Agricultural Solutions, secured more than 14 first-place rankings, 119 top-10 finishes and 403 top-30 finishes for the 2023 yield trials.

The FIRST trials provide unbiased comparisons of soybean products with a mission of improving yield potential and profitability for American farmers. The 2023 first place Xitavo product rankings include:

·         XO 2282E: Consistent across soil types; nice early season emergence and vigor; drought stress tolerance; Attractive on all acres; good standability with better than average SDS and Phytophthora.

·         XO 2501E: Excellent yield potential with tolerance to wet natured soils. Strong top end yield potential on highly productive acre. Excellent field tolerance. Bushier variety with lateral branching that closes the canopy quickly and adapts to all seeding rates.

·         XO 3014E: Best in class yield potential in early maturity group 3. Medium tall plant with above average standability under stress. Excellent field tolerance.

·         XO 3922E: High yield potential on all acres, but truly separates itself on the medium and highly productive acre. Medium height bean with a bushier canopy type. Flexible seeding rates.

“Once again, Xitavo continues to lead the soybean trials with 14 first place rankings,” said Marc Hoobler, Canola & Soybean Agronomy Lead at BASF. “Over the past three years, a remarkable 42 first-place finishes have been achieved by 23 unique Xitavo products. Given that each trial encompasses a range of roughly 30 to 65 entries, Xitavo’s performance is truly impressive.”

For the third consecutive year, the Xitavo seed brand has demonstrated outstanding performance in the WinField United Answer Plot® testing program. Over the last three years, 17 separate Xitavo products were defined as National Performers by WinField United with 8 total National Performers this season.

Xitavo soybean seed recently introduced 10 new soybean seed products for the upcoming 2024 growing season, all providing protection against SCN.

“Whenever we watch our seed take the lead, it reaffirms the reasons behind our commitment to our farmers,” Hoobler said. “However, this outcome doesn’t come as a surprise. We witness Xitavo perform time and time again on growers’ fields, and these trials are reinforcing our confidence in the Xitavo lineup across all maturity groups we offer. That’s seed done right.”
