(Sharon Springs, KS) — Last week, it was announced that Weskan Grain will be acquiring the assets and operations of Stockholm Grain’s locations throughout Kansas. The move by Weskan Grain will add over seven million bushels or storage capacity from Stockholm Grain to bring it’s total capacity to over 20 million bushels.
Weskan Grain, which is owned by the Soloviev Group and its Chairman Stefan Soloviev, is closely tied in with the Colorado Pacific Railroad which has been rebuilt in recent years and is also owned by Soloviev. The company says the new acquisition will add to its farmer focused mission to support farmers throughout Western Kansas and Eastern Colorado.
In a press release last week, Ab Smith, CEO of Stockholm Grain stated, “With Weskan Grain, we found a buyer who shares our core values of being customer and community focused, and being successful when the customer is successful.
