Smoke From Canada Impacting Four States

(Undated) — Four states are seeing the effects of wildfires in western Canada. Air quality alerts were issued Monday for Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota as smoke and haze drifted over the region.

The South Dakota Department of Health and the South Dakota Department of Ag and Natural Resources has issued an air quality alert for the entire state. Elderly folks with respiratory problems and young kids are particularly vulnerable. Health experts are urging anyone with symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, coughing and fatigue to stay inside as much as possible.

Evacuation orders were given to thousands of people in Canada last night.  Over 145 active wildfires are currently burning in Canada.
