North Dakota Beef Industry Military Appreciation Day planned for Tuesday, July 23 in Minot

The North Dakota Stockmen’s Association (NDSA), North Dakota Beef Commission and North Dakota CattleWomen will be joining forces to salute servicemen and women and their families during the 19th annual Beef Industry Military Appreciation Day July 23 at the North Dakota State Fair in Minot, N.D.

The event will include a free roast beef picnic for active-duty military, reserve and National Guard members and their families, music from the National Guard Band, along with children’s activities and more.

The event will be located near the Commercial II Exhibit Building on the State Fairgrounds. The meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., or until the food is gone.

“North Dakota’s cattle ranchers are proud to host the Beef Industry Military Appreciation Day each year,” said NDSA President Jason Leiseth, an Arnegard, N.D., cow-calf producer. “It’s a chance to say thanks to our nation’s heroes and to give them a great beef-eating experience so they can advocate for our product wherever their travels take them.

Event organizers are looking for volunteers to help serve food and drinks, clean tables, visit with military personnel and let them know how much North Dakota’s beef producers appreciate their service. To volunteer, contact NDSA Brand Recorder Joan Zimmerman at (701) 223-2522.
