2024-2025 South Dakota Junior Beef Ambassador Applications Now Open

Pierre, SD – The South Dakota Beef Industry Council (SDBIC) is calling on South Dakota youth ages 5-18 to apply for the new cohort of the South Dakota Junior Beef Ambassador program. This year marks the fifth year of the program.

The 2023/2024 program had 43 Junior Beef Ambassadors from across South Dakota. They assisted with various SDBIC promotion events such as the Black Hills Stock Show, Dakota Fest, Sanford International PGA Tour Champions and the South Dakota State Fair. They also shared photos and videos on social media highlighting their ranch and what they do as South Dakota beef farmers and ranchers. Throughout the year, they also shared delicious beef recipes for everyone to try!

“Our youth are the future of the beef industry, and the South Dakota Junior Beef Ambassador program is giving South Dakota kids the platform to tell their beef story,” states Jr Beef Ambassador coordinator, Riley Zoss-Littau. “This program helps young Beef Producers build confidence in sharing the benefits of beef in your diet, as well as prepare them for answering questions about beef farming and ranching.”

Applications for the 2024-2025 South Dakota Junior Beef Ambassador cohort will be open from August 15, 2024, to September 15, 2024, with the cohort being selected and beginning their beef promotion activities on October 1, 2024.
