Christy Seyfert Selected to Lead Farm Credit Council Long-time Agricultural Leader Will Take Post on Mid-January

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Farm Credit Council has selected Christy Seyfert to be President and CEO beginning in mid-January. Seyfert, currently Executive Director of Government Affairs for the American Soybean Association, was selected by the FCC Board of Directors following an extensive search process.
“Christy is strongly committed to the success of America’s rural communities and the agriculture industry,” said Farm Credit Council Board Chair Michael T. Stone. “We are excited for her to lead Farm Credit’s efforts in Washington.”
“Christy has deep knowledge of agriculture and vast experience in the Washington policy environment,” said Stan Claussen, FCC Board Vice Chair. “We know she will be a great leader of our very strong team in DC.”
Seyfert has over 25 years of experience in Washington working on agricultural policy. In addition to leading the transition of the American Soybean Association’s Washington office to an in-house team and new physical space, she oversees development and implementation of all advocacy strategy focusing on the farm economy, markets, transportation and infrastructure. Seyfert also has experience in the financial services industry representing major crop insurance provider Zurich North America and Wells Fargo. Earlier in her career, Christy held positions on Capitol Hill serving leaders of the House and Senate Agriculture Committees. Seyfert has a degree in agriculture and food science from the University of Georgia.

Seyfert is set to assume her new position mid-January and will succeed retiring President and CEO Todd Van Hoose.
