What’s New With DeKalb?

The 2024 National Association of Farm Broadcasters Convention was a hub for collaboration and conversation about the future of agriculture. Farm Broadcaster Corryn La Rue spoke with Jamie Horton, Dekalb Brand Manager.

Q: Jamie, you guys got some things coming down the pipeline, especially as harvest wraps up. Tell me about looking forward? What’s that look like?

Our corn and soybean teams this week have actually been in deployments looking already to 2026, but super excited for 2025 and what DeKalb and Asgrow to offer. And from a DeKalb standpoint, really launching 25 brand new products into the marketplace for that 25 growing season. And excited to see that performance as we’re wrapping up harvest in many cases throughout the Midwest and getting prepped to understand, hey, what are those products that we want to place on the farm to fit that acre in 25?

Q: We’re coming off the election here. It’s been a really crazy fall for a lot of people and folks got their eyes on trade and so what are we worried about?

Yeah, of course we look for maximizing that ROI and paying attention to the commodity price and really understanding what are those factors that we can do on farm to really maximize what we’re putting in inputs on that farm. And so really hoping, you know, as we continue to progress and plan into 25, that we’re able to really focus on that and take the time this winter to be able to analyze what worked, what didn’t work, and how do we maximize that next year.

Q: Jamie, just before we wrap this up, anything else you want to add?

Yeah, super excited about some of our traits that we have in the marketplace. Bayer continues to innovate and with DeKalb as the flagship brand, really bringing that new technology to American farmers throughout the US and so very excited to see what those technologies continue to bring and the value they bring to the farmer.
