EAGAN, Minn. – Members and leadership from the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) traveled to Washington, D.C., from March 10-13 to advocate for agriculture and engage with policymakers and other leaders.

During their visit, the group met with both Minnesota senators and representatives from seven congressional offices to share personal farming experiences and discuss the potential impact of current legislation on the future of agriculture. They also received updates from the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF), agribusiness leaders, and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) officials. Additionally, board members held meetings with representatives from the USDA, the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), and staff from both the House and Senate Agriculture Committees.

Participants on the trip included: MFBF President Dan Glessing, Vice President Carolyn Olson, District 3 Director Peter Bakken, and members Jessica Bester, Marc Collins, Matt, Darci, Benjamin, Levi, and Chloe Johnson, Alison Murrell, Tyler Nelson, Scott Plooster, Andrew and Victoria Praus, Katie Saterbak, Steve Schoenfeld, Brittany VanDerBill, along with MFBF staff members Loren Dauer, Rachel Reisig and Amanda Revier.

The Farmers to D.C. trip is held twice a year and open to all MFBF members. The next trip will take place in September 2025.
