Latest Drought Monitor Shows Continued Dryness Across Heart of the Corn Belt

(FARGO, ND) — The latest drought monitor released on Thursday shows continued dryness and drought concerns across the heart of the Corn Belt.

Pockets of Illinois, Iowa and Missouri continue to see expansion of moderate to severe drought along with central Minnesota. Areas of the eastern Corn Belt remain mostly abnormally dry to seeing moderate drought conditions while a pocket of eastern Nebraska continues to show extreme to exceptional drought conditions.

Most of the Northern Plains remains in normal conditions to abnormally dry while areas of the Southern Plains have seen improvement after recent heavy rains.
