(Pierre, SD) — The southeast part of the state is in a severe drought. Reports show it’s getting dryer by the day. There hasn’t been much rain to start the summer in the southeast, and the hot air continues to take out moisture out of the ground. Western South Dakota continues to have steady rain with only a small portion in drought. The Sioux Falls area is expected to get some rain through the weekend, and it would still be a big help.
