(Onida, SD) — No one is hurt after an explosion at the Ringneck Energy ethanol plant in Onida. Six employees were in the building when it happened just after 1 p.m. on Sunday. Onida Volunteer Fire Department Chief Caleb Shepherd says there’s major structural damage to the ethanol production portion of the plant. Walt Wendland, CEO of Ringneck Energy, says the damage “probably looks a lot worse than it is.” The South Dakota Fire Marshal’s Office will begin an investigation on Monday.
