USDA Deputy Secretary Xochitl Torres Small will lead the first-ever agribusiness trade mission to Angola November 28-December 1. USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service is accepting applications from American exporters who wish to participate in the mission.
“When it comes to trade opportunity, Sub-Saharan Africa is both promising and often overlooked, and the USDA trade mission to Angola presents an incredible prospect for America’s food and agricultural exporters to expand and explore new business opportunities,” says Torres Small. “Angola is one of the largest markets in Africa, and with imports making up more than half its food market, Angola is a perfect location for U.S. exports to introduce more American-made products to African consumers.”
With a population of almost 36 million people, many in the middle- and high-income bracket, Angola is looking for high-quality imported products. With U.S. exports to Angola totaling $236 million, it’s the seventh-largest African market for the U.S.
