Hamlin Residents Discuss Proposed $86M Dairy Farm

(Hazel, SD) — Hamlin residents are taking part in discussing plans for one of the largest dairy farms in the country. The proposed 86-million-dollar facility will span over 250 acres and hold over 12-thousand cows. This land will be provided by Governor Noem’s brothers, Rock and Robb Arnold. Over a-hundred attendees packed the Hazel Community Center to talk about the new proposed dairy farm Tuesday night, including topics like road and water use, odor prevention and labor. Rock said before the meeting that one of their main motivators for bringing this project to Hazel was to revitalize the community and bring more jobs to this area.
