Rains Help Reduce Drought In Minnesota

(Undated) — Recent rainfall is helping reduce the level of drought in Minnesota. The latest U.S. Drought Monitor map released yesterday shows a small area of southeast Minnesota still experiencing extreme drought. About a quarter of the state is in the category of severe drought, including several areas of central and southern Minnesota that were listed in extreme drought last week. The amount of the state with no measurable drought increased slightly, moving to over four-percent this week.
