(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota Department of Agriculture says feral pigs near the Canadian border could cause problems if they enter North Dakota. Experts say the pigs can spread diseases, destroy crops, and interfere with the local ecosystem. The state veterinarian is monitoring the pigs, which are a cross between Eurasian boars and domestic pigs. Any North Dakotans who see stray pigs are asked to report them to the Department of Agriculture, where they will be tested for disease and identified.
