(WASHINGTON D.C.)– The 2023 corn harvest is almost officially in the books according to the final 2023 Crop Progress Report from USDA.
As of Sunday, November 26th, 96% of the corn nationwide is harvested which is up 3% from the previous week but behind the last year’s pace of 99% for this time of year. The number is slightly ahead of the five year average of 95%. Part of the reason for the slow wrap to corn harvest is delays in the eastern Corn Belt with Ohio and Michigan only 79% and 80% harvested, respectively, as of Sunday, November 26th.
Meantime, winter wheat is rated 50% good to excellent nationwide as of Sunday with 91% of that crop emerged as well.
