Final Four Contestants to Compete at NDFB Collegiate Discussion Meet

BISMARCK, ND – NDFB is excited to announce the names of the four finalists who have progressed to the final stage of the NDFB Collegiate Discussion Meet. These promising young leaders will compete for the championship on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 5:15 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Fargo.

The four finalists are:

Paul Hanebutt, representing DSU

Shayna Pond, representing DSU

Taiton Axtman, representing NDSU

Race Jacobson, representing NDSU

The NDFB Collegiate Discussion Meet is a unique opportunity for individuals to engage in constructive discussions on pivotal agricultural topics, similar to real committee meetings. Participants exchange ideas and information on a predetermined agricultural issue, showcasing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. This experience helps them build fundamental discussion skills, gain a deeper understanding of agricultural matters, and explore the power of collaborative knowledge sharing to achieve consensus and solve problems.

The NDFB Collegiate Discussion Meet winner will represent North Dakota at the American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) Young Farmer and Rancher Conference in Omaha, Nebraska, scheduled for March.

The final competition on November 17 promises to be a thrilling showcase of these young leaders’ talents and their ability to articulate their views on agricultural issues of great importance. For more information, please visit www.ndfb.org.

NDFB is the most effective general farm and ranch organization in the state of North Dakota, with more than 28,000 member families and 50 organized county Farm Bureaus.
