EAGAN, Minn. – Fourteen students from colleges across the state will compete in the state discussion meet at the 2024 Minnesota Farm Bureau Leadership, Education, Advocacy and Promotion (LEAP) Conference on Feb. 2-3 in Fargo/Moorhead.
Students advanced to the state contest after capturing one of the top two places at regional contests held at seven different campuses across the state. The students competing in the state contest are:
Landon Mertens – Central Lakes College, Staples
Riley Lefebvre – Central Lakes College, Staples
Jacob Runge – Ridgewater College, Willmar
Ralph Roesler – Ridgewater College, Willmar
Boden Simon – Riverland Community College, Austin
Brennan Folie – Riverland Community College, Austin
Jayden German – South Central College, Mankato
Mason Ward – South Central College, Mankato
Logan Burns – Southwest Minnesota State University, Marshall
Silas Schultz – Southwest Minnesota State University, Marshall
Katelyn Mack – University of Minnesota, Crookston
Lily Krona – University of Minnesota, Crookston
Aina Perez – University of Minnesota, Twin Cities
Kyle Thomas – University of Minnesota, Twin Cities
The winner will receive a cash prize sponsored by Christensen Farms, as well as lodging and registration costs covered to attend the national YF&R Collegiate Discussion Meet competition, held during the Young Farmers & Ranchers Leadership Conference, March 8-11 in Omaha.
