Pierre, SD – The South Dakota Beef Industry Council (SDBIC) will place beef center stage at multiple events at the 2024 Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo Rapid City. This year’s stock show will take place January 26 – February 3, 2024, in Rapid City, South Dakota. SDBIC employees, SDBIC Board of Directors and Junior Beef Ambassadors will highlight BEEF to thousands of people from throughout the region.
The Beefy Chili Cookoff takes place on Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 12:00-2:00pm MT and will highlight local talent from across South Dakota as they bring their best chili forward. You will also see the Jr. Beef Ambassadors, staff, and ranchers from across the state engaging in many live interviews and events including Rodeo Rapid City, FFA Days Presentation on Monday January 29, 2024, and the Youth Beef Cookoff on Saturday February 3, 2024. Attendees will also have several opportunities to win Beef Bucks in the Rodeo Zone, thanks to the continued partnership the SD Beef Industry Council enjoys with Rodeo Rapid City.
New this year, 2024 Miss Rodeo South Dakota, Callie Mueller, will join the SDBIC at their booth on Saturday January 27th from 1:15-1:45pm MT and Thursday February 1st from 3:00-3:30 pm MT. Stop by the booth for an autographed photo.
SDBIC President, Gary Deering, states, “The SDBIC values our partnership with the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo Rapid City. It is a fantastic way to connect with our cattle producers, hear their concerns, and discuss how we are working to build demand for beef.”

Executive Director, Suzy Geppert will be on the Rodeo Zone Stage on Friday February 2, 2024, at 12:00 PM MT to talk about the Build Your Base program in South Dakota and the growth the program has seen nationally in the last several years.
