Deadwood, S.D., Feb. 28, 2024 – R-CALF USA will host its 2024 national convention and trade show June 19-21, 2024, at the Lodge at Deadwood.
The event will commemorate R-CALF USA’s 25th anniversary convention, as the group celebrates 25 years of fighting for America’s cattle and sheep industries and the families that steward them. The group hopes to reflect on and celebrate its achievements, applying them to present context, motivating and building momentum among members, event attendees, and fellow producers.
Preconvention activities and meetings will kick off Wednesday afternoon, June 19, with committee and policy development meetings and an affiliate council meeting. Wednesday evening will host a welcome reception with appetizers, drinks, and early registration check-in and trade show access.
On Thursday, June 20, and Friday, June 21, attendees will hear presentations on current hot-button issues and reforms, legislative updates, and more from numerous industry speakers and government officials.
Confirmed convention speakers thus far include international journalist Alex Newman, U.S. Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-WY), Department of Agriculture Senior Advisor for Fair and Competitive Markets Andy Green, USDA Farm Service Agency Administrator Zach Ducheneaux, and Global Roundtable for Sustainable Beef expert Tracy Hunt. A full convention agenda will be released at a later date.
Sponsor and trade show vendor spots are available, the deadline to register is May 1. Applications for the Kimmi Lewis Memorial Convention Scholarship are now open, the deadline to apply is May 1. The scholarship is available to any new or existing R-CALF USA member who has never had the opportunity to attend the annual convention. Early bird attendee registration is open; registration prices will increase by $50 on June 1.
