North Dakota FFA Foundation Names Laiken DeMorrett as new Executive Director

BISMARCK, N.D. –  The North Dakota FFA Foundation has appointed Laiken DeMorrett as its new executive director, effective May 28, 2024. DeMorrett brings extensive experience in nonprofit leadership and a deep commitment to agricultural education.

Prior to joining the North Dakota FFA Foundation, DeMorrett served as the advocacy director at the North Dakota Women’s Business Center for over six years. In this role, she was instrumental in advancing the organization’s mission and fostering community engagement.

DeMorrett’s connection to FFA dates back to her high school years when she was an active member and earned her American FFA Degree, the highest degree achievable in the National FFA Organization. Her lifelong dedication to FFA’s values and mission will be invaluable in her new role.

“I am honored to join the North Dakota FFA Foundation as executive director,” said DeMorrett. “FFA has played a significant role in shaping my life, and I am excited to give back to an organization that has given me so much. I look forward to working with the team to support and inspire the next generation of agricultural leaders.”

A native of Williston, DeMorrett graduated from North Dakota State University in 2011 with a degree in animal science. She resides in Bismarck with her husband, Josh DeMorrett, and their two dogs, Jake and Ted. She also has one adult stepson named Brayden.

“We are thrilled to welcome Laiken to our team,” said Travis Maddock, President of the North Dakota FFA Foundation. “Her extensive advocacy background and her connection to FFA make her the ideal leader to guide our foundation into the future.”

As executive director, DeMorrett will oversee the foundation’s strategic initiatives, fundraising efforts, and community outreach programs, ensuring continued support for North Dakota’s 7,440 active members across the state’s 93 chapters.
